A note from our founder
“I designed the mangalsutra I couldn’t find.”
Before my wedding, I was told I needed a mangalsutra. I looked everywhere and didn’t love a single one.
So my mother-in-law and I designed our own in India. When I shared it, hundreds of strangers asked where it came from. That was when I knew I wasn’t the only one.
A week later, I started Modern Mangal. I still wear that first mangalsutra. Today it’s called the Shreya, and every piece since has been made for anyone who’s still looking.
